General Information
Appropriate Phys. Ed Attire
All children are required to wear proper indoor footwear for phys. ed class. Sandals, crocs, boots and skate shoes are not appropriate attire. Due to safety reasons, the child will not be able to participate without proper footwear. Students also need to wear appropriate clothing of shorts/sweats and a t-shirt. Please take note of phys. ed days and plan outfits accordingly. Students in grades 4-8 will be changing for phys. ed. They must keep a bag with shorts/sweats & tshirt in their locker to wear each class. OPPS dress code is in effect. Please remind your child to bring home his/her gym clothes every Friday to be washed and returned for Monday. In compliance with the HDSB safety guidelines, all jewellery (including stud earrings) and hard hair accessories (barrettes, headbands etc) must be removed for PE classes. Students wishing to wear fit bits must cover them with a sweatband. Periodically we may go outside for phys. ed class. In the fall and spring, students should be prepared to go outside for class. Students will be notified ahead of time if winter outdoor activities are planned. Illness / Injury Students are expected to provide a note from a parent if illness or injury may impede their participation in phys. ed class. Students with significant injuries (broken bones, concussions, extended illness) will need to provide a doctor's note to resume participation. |
